Ever wondered how the shoes are designed & sampled in Commune Wear?

Ever wondered how the shoes are designed & sampled? It starts with sketches and illustrations of the shoes we are inspired by. We try to put in as many details as possible while sketching - the shape of the base, how the shoes should fit, the colour and stitching of it. Our leather master, with over 25 years of experience, creates the samples for us. The first sample is done with microfiber & paper, ensuring that we reduce wastage. It’s all about the leather, design and shape that’s catered to making you feel comfortable every step of the way. We have prioritized *feet* in the process of design. Shoes should be comfortable, period. With all leather shoes we create we have thought about all shapes, sizes, whether you have wide feet, flat feet or thin feet, truly creating a pair for everyone.

Heels made from Recycled Leather

The footwear industry largely relies on machinery to churn out low-cost shoes which has taken a toll on our environment and the artisanal shoe-making community. At Commune Wear, we decided early on that we wanted to take the road less travelled; To bring shoes that are mindfully and skilfully crafted by artisans who have been doing so for generations... Recycled Leather The heel of our loafers and mules are handcrafted with recycled leather, which is specially imported from Germany. Handcrafted layer by layer by our skilled craftsmen.
